Southcoast & Eyjafjallajökull Glacier

Super Jeep Tour

This tour will take you to the beautiful South Coast and many of the natural wonders that Iceland has to offer

After the pickup from your accommodation we will head out of town, over a mountain road called Hellisheiði, working our way towards the south Coast. On our way to our first stop at Urriðafoss waterfall located in Þjórsá river, we will pass through beautiful old fishing villages, Stokkseyri (500 people) and Eyrarbakki (600 people). After viewing the waterfall we will continue on to road nr.1 and drive towards the mighty Eyjafjallajökull, the trouble maker that erupted in 2010 causing a lot of disturbance in Europe´s airspace. At the base of the glacier/volcano we will find two amazing waterfalls, Seljalandfoss and hidden secret inside a gorge called Gljúfrabúi. Now things will start to heat up as we put our Superjeep to the test and head inland on a 4×4 road, passing rivers and rough landscape to view of Gígjökull glacier, tongue of Eyjafjallajökull. Next up is Lunch at Gamla Fjósið, very nice restaurant under Eyjafjöll mountains where we will relax for a while before continuing on the black sand beach at Reynisfjara. There we will enjoy watching the magnificent and powerful Atlantic ocean smash against the Basalt Column rock formations. Beware that on this stop you must proceed with caution, the strength of the current in this area is high and can easily sweep you away. After a refreshing walk on the Black Sand Beach, we will drive to the last stop of the day at the magnificent Skógafoss, wich falls 60m of a cliff in the Eyjafjalla mountain range.
