This tour will take you along the beautiful South Coast to the magnificent Jökulsárlón (Glacier Lagoon), stopping to view many of the spectacular natural wonders that Iceland has to offer.
- Skógarfoss waterfall
We will start the day early with pickup from your accommodation at 08.00 and head stright out of Reykjavík towards the South coast of Iceland. Our first stop of the day will be at Skógarfoss waterfall. This waterfall falls majestically 60 meters of a cliff under the mighty Eyjafjallajökull glacier/volcano. It is said that the Icelandic settler Þrasi Þrasason hid a large gold chest in a cave behind the waterfall and on a sunny day you can see a glymps of it, so who knows what our expedition will bring for us.
- Reynisfjara black sand beach
From Skógarfoss we will go to Reynisfjara black sand beach, Reynisfjara is truly one of the most beautyful places in Iceland and is located on the 450 km long South coast of Iceland. there we can enjoy watching the enourmous waves of the atlantic ocean smash against the basalt columns and birds nesting in the amazing cliffs that rise above the beach.
- Vatnajökull glacier
After Reynisfjara we will start our drive to Jökulsárlón, we will be driving along the south edge of Europe´s largest glacier Vatnajökull wich rises high up into the skyes, revealing it´s magnificent beauty, turkish blue colors, mysterious cravasses and Iceland´s highest peak Hvannadalshnjúkur (2119m)
- Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon
Finally at our destination we will take good time for sight seeing, Jökulsárlón or the Glacier lagoon is famous for it´s stunning views and can easily be declaired one of the most spectacular places you will see in Iceland. You will be breath taken as you watch the gigantic icebergs float around on the lagoon passing through the glacier river on their way to the Ice Crystal Beach.
- Svínafellsjökull glacier
Now that we have had our time to enjoy the sights at Jökulsárlón we will start making our way back towards Reykjavík but the show is not over. Next stop is at Svínafellsjökull glacier where we will get the chance to walk along a mountain side and above the glacier and look into it´s deep and dreary crevasses.
- Seljalandsfoss waterfall
Now for the last stop of the day we present to you the floodlighted waterfall Seljalandsfoss.
This waterfall is quite amazing and during summertime you can even walk behind it and the best thing about it all is that we are arriving at it´s location at a time when there are not many people around so it´s highly likely that we will have it to our selves.
It is vital to bring good shoes and warm clothes for our journey as we will be spending some time outside and as you might already know, the Icelandic weather is quite unpredictable. So to get the most out of our expedition we like you to be warm and comfortable
Don´t worry about bringing food with you as we will be making stops along the way where you can buy food and necessities.
