Borgarfjörður and Aurora Borealis

Join us on a trip to the western part of Iceland and explore the historical Borgarfjörður, the heart of the Icelandic Sagas and home of magnificent beauty´s of nature, including the breathtaking and exciting Northern Lights Hunt.

The day starts with pickup from your hotel and we head from there on to road nr 1 towards Borgarfjörður. After about  an hours drive we will reach the first stop of our expedition at  Deildartunguhver hotspring wich is the most powerful hotspring in Europe. From Deildartunguhver we will continue to a waterfall called Hraunfossar or „Lava Waterfalls“.  After enjoying  the magical waterfalls we will put our 4×4 to the test by driving in to the highlands towards Langjökull glacier, the second largest glacier in Iceland (953 m²), after Vatnajökull glacier. Once we have enjoyed the magnificent view from  Langjökull we will drive back down to Húsafell and have a relaxing dinner at Hotel Húsafell.

And finally to  complete the perfect day we will take you for an amazing night, in the wild Icelandic nature and find the best possible spots to get a good view of this spectacular phenomenon called the Northern Lights. The route taken in this part of the tour may vary according to cloud formations. Just be prepared to be breath taken as you watch the lights dance before your eyes and even changing colors on a good night. You are in for the night of your lifetime.
